The Catalyst Award

Presented for significant contributions as an innovator, a “catalyst” of change, making significant contributions on behalf of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Lori E. Scott

Lori Scott embodies the very spirit of the Catalyst Award through her relentless commitment to creating meaningful change for people with disabilities and their families. As a mother, healthcare professional, advocate, and motivator, Lori brings compassion, intelligence, and determination to every challenge she encounters. Her insatiable quest for solutions to complex problems has helped drive the development and passage of important legislation that has made schools safer, more inclusive, and more responsive to the needs of students with disabilities.

Lori has served on The Arc Maryland Board for many years. Her leadership is grounded not only in expertise, but in humanity. She is known for being thoughtful, kind, collaborative, and deeply supportive of others, while never losing sight of the larger goal of equity and inclusion. Her ability to inspire action, build partnerships, and persist through barriers has created a lasting impact for countless children and families.
