Funding Changes to DDA Community Services
Despite the mandate from 2019 to increase funding for DDA services 4% annually, the Governor’s draft budget for FY21 (adjusted through the Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act) includes only a 2% increase for DDA community services.
If budget committees adopt this recommendation of only a 2% funding increase for FY21, it would devastate the DD System. Providers are already struggling with current funding and will not have enough funding to continue to operate.
Additionally, providers cannot wait until January 1, 2021. We need the funding on July 1, 2019 as promised.
What You Can Do to Help
Tell them your story and how important DDA services and supports are to you or your loved one.
Request committee members restore DD Community Services funding increases to the promised 4% annual increase mandated through the Minimum Wage Act of 2019.
Ask that they recommend the full 4% increase in funding will be provided to DD providers starting July 1, 2020 with no cuts or delays.
